CHAPMAN 2 PERSON GOLF TOURNAMENT AND FISH HAWK BOURBON TASTINGS @ 8:30 AM
$30 entry fee + cart fees

History – The name of the tournament originated with Dick Chapman, a renowned amateur golfer in the 1940’s & 50’s. The format was created to balance two players of different abilities. This allows the stronger players to work with the weaker players. The stronger players drive sets up the weaker player for an easier approach shot. After two shots, you should be close to the green, so playing alternate shot from there should be less impacting.
Playing the Game
- This is a two-person team format with handicaps
- Both players hit drives
- Each player hits the second shot from where their partners drive lays
- The best of the second shots is selected to continue playing the hole
- From the best of the second shot, the partners play alternating shots into the hole
- The player whose second shot was picked up, plays the third shot, hitting the best of the 2nd shot ball
- The players continue to alternate until the ball is holed.
- The handicaps are calculated as 60% of the stronger player and 40% of the weaker player and then combined for a team handicap.
- The tournament will be flighted based on Team Handicaps.

Entry fee = $30/person + any applicable cart fees, includes Lunch after tournament and Three Bourbon Tastings during the tournament.
Lunch will be served to all tournament participants at Turnpike Mike’s.

- Hot Brown: Sliced Turkey Breast, White Cheddar Cheese Sauce, Baked Tomato & Crispy Bacon on a thick white toast.
- Classic Southern Cheese Grits

- Kentucky Bread Pudding w/Bourbon Sauce

PUTTING CONTEST @ 2pm
$2 Entry Fee
2 – 4 PM
The Practice Green will be set up into a 9-hole putting course. For a nominal $2 entry fee, each contestant will play the course (just like Miniature Golf), keep their own score and turn in their scorecard. The lowest score for the day is the winner!
Contestants will be sent out in pairs starting at 2pm. In the event of a tie, a Putt Off will be conducted to determine the overall winner. Top prize will be a $25 gift card from the golf shop and other fun items.

HAT CONTEST @ 4:00
SummerGlen Golf Course will be hosting day of Kentucky Derby Festivities, one of the festivities is a Hat Contest. Sign-ups to enter the contest will be in the resident mailroom and the Golf Proshop.
Contest registration begins at 4:00 pm on the patio behind Turnpike Mike’s. Judging will take place at 4:45 pm.

WATCH THE DERBY
Turnpike Mike’s will be showing the Kentucky Derby Live in the bar.
Drink specials include Mint Juleps, and $2.50 pints of Blue Moon, the official beer of the Kentucky Derby.

August Month-Long Chipping Contest
Every Tuesday in August at 4pm
Qualifying rounds on the 4th, 11th & 18th with the finals on Aug 25th
Winner receives the Gift Basket on display in our Golf Shop!
There will be a $1 entry fee each week to participate.
Everyone will receive a sleeve of balls for participating.
Each week 3 people will qualify for the Finals, providing 9 contestants.
On August 25th, an additional 10th person will have a chance to qualify. The finals will be conducted immediately after that final qualifier to determine a single winner, who will receive a Gift Basket which will be on display in the Golf Shop.
